THE STORY

The airline that grew too fast

Air Florida turned deregulation into a land grab, taking green-and-blue 737s from Miami to the Caribbean, the Northeast and eventually London in barely a decade. The expansion outran the balance sheet and it stopped flying in 1984. Our Air Florida designs draw on the sunshine years — the marks crews wore on a fleet that was everywhere at once.
