THE STORY
Bare metal and a red, white and blue stripe
American ordered the DC-3 that finally made carrying passengers pay, launched the first frequent flyer program in 1981, and wore Massimo Vignelli's polished-aluminium livery for forty-five years — the double-A eagle on an unpainted fuselage. Our American designs draw on those years rather than today's fleet — the marks crews wore from the AstroJet era to the last bare-metal widebody.
Every garment is printed when you order it, in the USA, with the disclaimer on the label: an independent tribute, for the people who remember.
Fly for American? Worked DFW? Remember the bare-metal fleet?
Tell us what we should print next — a route, a fleet, a slogan you still hear.
