THE STORY

The airline that sold for a pound

Dan-Air flew Britain on holiday — Comets, One-Elevens and 727s from Gatwick and the regions down to the Costas, with a compass rose on the tail. In 1992, deep in debt, the whole airline was sold to British Airways for one pound. Our Dan-Air designs draw on the charter years — the marks crews wore on the runs south.
