THE STORY
The crane on the tail
Japan Airlines began in 1951 and put the tsurumaru — a crane with its wings drawn into a circle — on its tail in 1959, retired it in 2002 and brought it back in 2011 because nobody had ever stopped wanting it. Our JAL designs draw on the classic tsurumaru years rather than today's fleet.
Every garment is printed when you order it, in the USA, with the disclaimer on the label: an independent tribute, for the people who remember.
Fly for JAL? Work Haneda? Remember the first tsurumaru?
Tell us what we should print next — a route, a fleet, a slogan you still hear.
