THE STORY
Herman the Duck
North Central flew the upper Midwest out of Minneapolis in blue and yellow, with a mallard on the tail that everybody called Herman. On 1 July 1979 it merged with Southern Airways to create Republic, and Herman went along with it. Our North Central designs draw on the Herman years — the marks crews wore on the DC-3s, Convairs and DC-9s.
